On July 1, Professor Telman Jafarov was awarded a prize for the best translation of Russian literature. It is first time that Russian Literature Institute in Saint Petersburg presents prizes for the best translation of works of Russian literature into world languages. This contest has been organized by the International Center of Translators of Russian Literature into World Languages.

Thus a Professor of Baku Slavic University, a Doctor of Philology, an expert on Russian literature Telman Jafarov has been awarded for the translation of a novel "The Brothers Karamazov" by F. Dostoevsky into Azerbaijani.
