Baku city Culture and Tourism Department with support of the Ministry of culture and tourism of АR and Executive power of Baku city has started selection process of competition musical festival "Bakı Gecələri-2010” which purpose is carrying out development of variety song genre so popular today, and also perfection as author's, so art and professional mastery, and as consequence of that, representation of Azerbaijan in the international competitions at high level.

Competition to be held for the purpose of development of activity of folk theatres and theatrical circles, creation of favorable circumstances for creative search of talented writers, estimation and propagation of literary works of young writers.

On June 1, in Baku concert complex "Open-air theatre" has passed a final concert of II Baku festival of pupils of children's musical schools and schools of arts.

For the purpose of development of art amateur collectives of cultural establishments, improvement of work of cultural-educational establishments, and also for the purpose of development of the Azerbaijan national music, folklore and dancing genre Baku City Culture and Tourism Department realizes Festival of art amateur collectives.

On May 26, from 11.00 till 19.00 in the garden of the Azerbaijan state philharmonic society of a name M.Magomayev at the organization of Baku City Culture and Tourism Department will pass “Book Holiday – 2010”.

Baku city Culture and Tourism Department in May and June will organize cycle of concert programs under the name "Spring evenings" devoted to 28th May – Republic Day.

The festival of folk theatres of Baku city passing at the organization of Baku City Culture and Tourism Department is spent to amateur theatrical collectives, and also increases of interest of the population to a theatrical art for the purpose of development of national creativity, the fruitful organization of work of cultural establishments.

On April 16, at 18:00, at Song Theatre of a name R.Bejbutov under the project of Dzafar Dzhabbarly’s house museum, at the organization of Baku City Culture and Tourism Department will pass rewarding ceremony “Dzafar Dzhabbarly’s award”.

In the Central mobile book fund named after M. Gorki has passed competition "Be friend with book and become the most active reader!".
